How Do I Manage Members’ Access to Spaces and the Network?

Updated today

This article covers how to remove access with or without plans, how direct add works, and how members can manage their own access.

Plans are a tool for determining who can access your Mighty Network or specific Spaces. From the Plan Member List, you can view members on each plan and remove them—without needing to manage anything directly in Stripe.

Removing a Member from a Plan

You can remove a member from a plan at any time:

  1. Go to Admin > Plans > Plan List.

  2. Select the plan name.

  3. Open the Members tab.

  4. Select the three-dot menu next to the member’s name > More > Remove from Plan.

After removal:

  • The member immediately loses access to the Spaces or Network included in that plan.

  • Billing stops automatically (if applicable) and no refunds are given.

  • They remain in your Network’s member list unless they leave or you remove them.

    • If the plan you remove them from includes Network access, they’ll lose access and be removed from your member list.

Note: Members marked Pending – Payment cannot be removed until the plan is fully deactivated

Removing Members from a Plan Using Automations

Mighty Networks supports plan-based automations through both Mighty Automations, our API and Zapier.

You can remove members from a plan using:

  • Mighty Automations (action: Remove from Plan)

  • Zapier (action: Remove from Plan)

  • Or our API endpoint

You can choose whether to remove them immediately or at the end of the billing period.

Removal at the Billing Period end occurs when:

  • A Host removes a member from a subscription plan and chooses end of billing period.

Immediate removal occurs when:

  • A Host removes a member from a subscription plan and chooses immediately.

  • A Host removes a member from a Free, Non-Paid, or One-Time Purchase plan.

Important: Members cannot remove themselves from Free, Non-Paid, or One-Time Purchase plans.

Direct Add to a Space

Hosts and moderators can add full members directly to a Space or Spaces regardless of plans.

Important notes:

  • If a Space is Accessible Through Plans, direct add overrides the plan requirement for that individual.

  • If a member later joins a plan that includes that Space, their access becomes tied to the plan going forward.

If a Space is Invite-Only, direct add brings the member in immediately.

Remove a Member From a Space or Network (When They’re Not on a Plan)

If someone has access to a Space or your Network and they are not on a plan, then you can remove them manually.

Remove a member from a Space

  1. Go to the Space Admin (gear icon)

  2. Navigate to the Member List.

  3. Select the three-dot menu next to the member’s name > Remove from Space.

Remove a member from your Network

  1. Go to Admin

  2. Navigate to the Member List

  3. Select the three-dot menu next to the member’s name > Remove from Everything.

Removing someone from a Space only removes access to that Space. Removing them from everything will remove all access they have.

What Members Can Do: Leaving and Rejoining

Members can leave:

Any Space, unless access is granted by a plan.

To leave a Space, members can:

  1. Go the Space in the left hand navigation

  2. Select the three-dot menu

  3. Select Leave Space.

  4. Confirm they want to leave.

To leave your Network, members can:

  1. Go to their profile menu.

  2. Select Personal Settings > Account.

  3. Select Deactivate or Delete Account.

  4. Confirm they want to leave.

Members can't leave your Network if they are in the middle of a process that temporarily prevents it—such as an unfinished required onboarding flow. Once they complete the flow, then they can leave your Network.

Members cannot leave:

  • A Free, Non-Paid, or One-Time Purchase plan. Only a Host can remove them from these plans.

  • A Space where access is controlled entirely by a plan. If they’re on a plan that includes the Space, they must stay in that Space unless the Host removes them from the plan or they cancel their plan.
