What Permissions Do Space Hosts and Space Moderators Have?
Updated over a week ago

There are a few different roles that members can play inside of each Space.

For each of these options, an unlimited number of people can be designated in each role.

Here's a breakdown of what the different roles mean:

  • A Space Host controls everything about the Space, but these permissions do not extend beyond the Space.

  • A Space moderator has a slightly more limited role than a Space Host.

To make someone a Space Host or moderator, navigate to Space Members, search for their name, then select More > Change Role > Space Host.

If you don’t have the Members Feature enabled in a Space, navigate to the gear icon > Space Members > Member List and select the three dot menu.

Table of Contents Owner

In a Space with a Table of Contents, you can pick Owners for each Lesson, which allows them to edit individual Lessons.

To make someone an Owner, they first need to be a Space moderator or Space Host. You can assign an Owner to a Lesson by going to the Lesson, selecting the drop-down arrow, and choosing "Choose an Owner" or "Invite New Owner".

Once they own at least one Lesson, they will appear as an Owner on the Overview. They can add content to the Lesson, make it visible, and toggle comments on or off.

Only the Space Owner will be notified of member comments on the Lesson.

Section Owners appear as Owners for the Lessons within that Section. If all Lessons in a Section have the same Owner, the Section will have one Instructor. If Lessons have different Owners, all will be listed as Section Owners.

You can also personalize these role names in Spaces and your Network.
