How Can Someone Purchase Access to Spaces or Membership on Mighty Networks?

Guide to purchasing Spaces or membership in a Mighty Network. Covers web, iOS, Android, Token-Gated Plans, and managing purchases.

Our Plans feature lets you offer paid access to:

  1. Your Mighty Network as a whole

  2. Specific Spaces within your Network

  3. Bundled access to both Network and Spaces

Once your Plans are set up, members can purchase them on the web, in the Mighty iOS app, or in your custom app if you’re a Mighty Pro Host. If you want to use a Token-Gated Plan to allow access with NFTs or cryptocurrency, learn more here.

How Members Purchase Plans on the Web

If you’re selling an External Plan (includes Network membership), new members will see a Choose a Plan button on your Network's Landing Page.

Clicking this will display all available Plans and details, including pricing. Members can then select a Plan, create an account, and pay with a card.

If you’d like to direct members straight to the Plans section on your landing page, just add /?choose_a_plan to the end of your URL, like so:

How Prospective Members Purchase an External Plan from Your Landing Page

Here’s a step-by-step look at what prospective members experience when purchasing a plan from your Landing Page:

Choose Plan: When a prospective member clicks “Choose Plan,” they’re taken to the bottom of your Network's Landing Page, where all available plans are displayed.

Select Plan: After selecting a plan, a detailed view appears in a fly-out window from the right. Here, members can review subscription options and choose their preferred payment frequency.

Create Account: The new member enters their account details, including Name, Email, and Password.

Enter Payment Information: Finally, the member enters their credit card details to complete the purchase.

How Existing Members Buy or Access an Internal Plan Directly in Your Network

For existing members (Internal Plans), Plan options appear on the Space’s plan page or within Featured Sections, depending on your setup. Members can select and pay for their Plan with a saved payment method or add a new one if needed.

Here’s a step-by-step look at what members see when they try to access a Space that requires purchasing an upsell plan:

Choose Plan: When a member clicks “Choose Plan,” they’ll be taken to the bottom of the Space’s About page, where they can see all available plans that provide access to that Space.

Enter Billing Information: After selecting a plan, they’ll be prompted to enter their billing address.

Enter Payment Details: Next, they’ll input their card information.

Confirm Purchase: Finally, they’ll click “Confirm Purchase” to complete the transaction.

Promoting Specific Plans

To promote a specific Plan, follow these steps to generate a shareable link:

  1. Log in on the web and click your profile picture in the top right corner.

  2. Go to Admin.

  3. Select Plan List, find the Plan you want to share, and click on the Share tab.

  4. Copy the share link to direct members to that Plan’s landing page.

Token-Gated Plans

With Token-Gated Plans, members will see the required Token(s) listed on the Plan page.

After a Purchase

Once a member purchases access, they’ll see "Purchased" next to the Space name in the list.

They will also receive a receipt from Stripe with your Network name, the charge amount, and your contact details.

Plans on iOS

On iOS, new Plans require Apple’s approval before members can make a purchase. To request expedited approval, click the Need Help? button in the bottom right corner of your Host account and ask our team to support with Apple’s approval process.

Before approval, External Plan buyers will see a "Not Currently Available to Purchase" message, required by Apple to ensure in-app purchases. However, they can still purchase Plans on the web.

After approval, members can buy Plans on iOS using Apple’s in-app payment system, which connects to their App Store account. Currency conversion happens automatically based on location.

For External Plans, prospective members will see "Create an Account by First Choosing a Membership Plan".

Internal Plans appear for existing members and can be purchased directly within the app.

Important to know: Apple charges a 15% fee on each transaction, and purchases made through the App Store cannot be canceled or refunded by you. Members manage their subscriptions directly through their App Store account.

Plans on Android

When you sell paid Plans, the Android app will inform members that they can purchase through a mobile browser or desktop.

Bank Statements

For web purchases, members will see the "statement descriptor" set up in your Stripe account on their bank statement. For iOS purchases, it will show as "Apple.com Bill." Email confirmations for iOS purchases will display the name of your Mighty Network.
