Mighty’s integrated payment features give you the ability to easily set up one-time purchases, subscriptions in varying intervals, and installment plans—all with a smooth checkout flow that gives members on the web the option to use Apple Pay or Google Pay. You can create the flexible payment options that fit your business, and allow members to manage their payment information and subscriptions securely and in one place.
If, for some reason, you need to take payments off-platform and then grant access to your Mighty Network, it’s easy to set this up using plans.
Plans offer the most options and flexibility for gating access to your Mighty Network, Spaces, or both. Plans also allow you to bundle access to multiple Spaces along with access to your Network, making it easy to give someone the access they need after making a purchase through your external setup.
Set Up Your Plans
The first step will be deciding what your members need access to on Mighty after they’ve completed their purchase elsewhere.
Add access to your Network and/or any Spaces to the plan(s) that you create.
If you exclude access to the Network in any of your plans, people joining those plans will be limited members (unless they already have access to your Network through a different plan).
For the step that asks you to Choose Your Gates, keep all of the gating options turned off. This will make it easy for people to join the plan in one simple flow with no payment, screening questions, or approval required.
Once you’re finished setting up your new plan(s), you’ll need to decide how you want to invite people to join the plan, so they can get access to everything you included.
Invite People to Your New Plans
Now that you’ve set up your plan (or plans) without gates that include everything someone should have access to in your Mighty Network after their external purchase, you can decide how you want to send or provide this access link to join.
In Admin > Plan List, select the plan you want to use. Then, go to the Visibility & Sharing tab.
This is where you can decide if you want to make your plan visible within your Network. We recommend keeping your new plan hidden, so that only people you invite to the plan can find and join it.
Send Invites to a Plan
Under Send Invites for This Plan, you’ll see the option send one-time use links to join the plan. Clicking the link to the Invite Form will take you directly to a page with the plan selected and options for sending direct email invites to join this plan.
You can decide when sending invites to a plan if you want someone to land first on the Plan Landing Page, or if you want them to Skip the Landing Page.
When you send people to the Plan Landing Page, it will take them to a simple landing page for the plan with the image and description you’ve added for the plan visible, along with a call to action to “Access” the plan. From there, someone is taken through a flow to either create their account or sign in (if they are not already signed into your Network) before they are then instantly added to everything you included in the plan (for example, your Network plus a bundle of Spaces).
When you choose the option to Skip the Landing Page, it will take people directly into the create account or sign in flow (depending on what you select), and then instantly add them to everything you included in the plan (for example, your Network plus a bundle of Spaces).
Next, add the individual email addresses of people who purchased off-platform, or upload a CSV with email addresses. We also recommend adding custom invite text.
Your members will receive an email with your invite text and a button to “Access Now” that will take them through the flow of joining your new plan. Once you've sent an invite, invitees will automatically get up to three email reminders from our system. These reminders go out after 3, 10, and 30 days.
Use a Share Link for a Plan
In the Visibility & Sharing tab for a plan, you also have the option to use a Share a Link for This Plan.
A share link can be used multiple times.
We strongly recommend only using this link if you are hyperlinking it within a button or text that’s included in your post-confirmation pages or emails. This is so that members are not aware that it’s a share link.
When you use a link to the Plan Landing Page, it will take people to a simple landing page for the plan with the image and description you’ve added for the plan visible, along with a call to action to “Access” the plan. From there, someone is taken through a flow to either create their account or sign in (if they are not already signed into your Network) before they are then instantly added to everything you included in the plan (for example, your Network plus a bundle of Spaces).
When you use a link that Skips the Landing Page, it will take people directly into the create account or sign in flow (if they are not already signed into your Network), and then instantly added to everything you included in the plan (for example, your Network plus a bundle of Spaces).
Share links can be deleted and regenerated at any time, simply by choosing the option to Delete All Links at the bottom of the Visibility & Sharing tab for a plan.
How to Set Up a Zap that Automatically Invites Someone to Your Plan
For this example, we'll show you how to set up this Zap that will automatically invite someone into your Mighty Network when they make a payment on Stripe.
Step 1: Set Up Your Trigger
Choose App
In this example, the Trigger is happening inside another app— Stripe. You will need to sign in to your Stripe account.
Select Trigger Event
Then, you'll need to select the specific Stripe Trigger you want to use. For this example, you'll use the Stripe Trigger "New Subscription," which activates when a subscription is purchased.
Set Up Your Action
Selecting your Action is the second required step when you are setting up a Zap.
Choose App & Event
Because the Action in this example is happening inside your Mighty Network, you’ll need to first select Mighty Networks as the app. Then, select the Action “Plan Action”
The Action type will be “Invite to Plan”
And search for the plan name to invite them to.
Click Enter text" under "Email Addresses" and select the "Email Address" field that comes over from the Trigger.
Then customize the invite text which will appear in an email notification to members.
Finally decide whether you would like the member to land on the Plan Landing Page or Skip the Landing Page and go directly to the checkout page.
Once you’re finished, you may be asked during this step to test the connection to ensure the data gets transferred properly. Then, Zapier will let you know that the Zap is ready to be turned on!
How to Set Up a Zap to Remove a Member from a Plan
If you are using an off-platform payment processor to process payment and want to automate canceling member subscriptions, you'll need to set up a Zap with Mighty Networks as the Trigger and your off-platform payment processor as the Action.
We’ll use Stripe in this example.
Set Up Your Trigger
The Trigger will be “Canceled Subscription”
Set Up Your Action
The Action will be “Plan Action” and the Action Type will be “Remove from Plan”
Then search for the plan name.
Click the box for email addresses, select “Insert Data” to connect Stripe and Zapier, and test to make sure the Zap is working.
Important notes:
If a member has access to two plans with overlapping Space, and they are "removed from plan" via the Zapier Action from one of the plans with the overlapping Space, they keep access to that overlapping Space.
If the member signed up to your Mighty Network with a different email than the one they used to purchase your plan off-platform or changed their email before canceling, the Zap Action will fail and they won't be removed from your Network. Zapier will send an email about this, and you'll need to remove this member manually.
