If and when you decide to set up payments within your Mighty Network, there are a few common use cases for how you can structure your Mighty Network and the Plans you create.
Definitions to Know
As you consider setting up payments in your Mighty Network, you'll want to know a few key terms:
Plan – the mechanism for setting up paid access to your Mighty Network or Spaces within your Mighty Network. A Plan can sell access to your main Mighty Network, an individual Space within your main Mighty Network, or a Bundled Plan of multiple Spaces.
Plan Access – Access is gated behind a membership plan. This might include access to general Spaces or a community-wide experience.
Visible Plan – A Visible Plan is available to anyone on the Plan Landing Page who visits the page.
Hidden Plan – A Hidden Plan is only accessible via a shared link that you'll be able to generate once your Plan is set up. A Hidden Plan is there to set up different prices for the same offering or even create a link that will get visitors or members into that Plan for free. Hidden Plans are also how a Mighty Network today handles coupons, which are not yet available.
Bundle: This grants someone access to more than one area of your Mighty Network with a single purchase.
Inside of each Plan list there are additional filters:
Pending - Access
This indicates that the Host has approved the member's request to join, and the system is now waiting for the member to log back in and confirm their access.
Pending - Approval
This means the member is pending approval to your Mighty Network. You will see this if you are using Approvals on a plan.
This could mean that members created an account and abandoned their cart before purchase. It could also be that they have Strong Customer Authentication (SCA)enabled on their card. They will need to contact their bank for approval.
Pending - Answers
This means the member has not answered the Screening Questions on a plan.
Free Trial
The member is on a Free Trial.
Active
The member is on an active subscription.
Past Due
The member is past due on their subscription.
Canceled
The member has canceled their subscription.
Strong Customer Authentication
In this age of fraud and higher levels of security, some credit card companies require verification of a new purchase. If a member has a SCA (Strong Customer Authentication) Card, they will need to verify the purchase before their card is charged.
What is SCA?
Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) is a European regulatory requirement to reduce fraud and make online and contactless offline payments more secure. SCA requirements are set out in the Regulatory Technical Standards or RTS. Banks must decline payments that require SCA and don’t meet these criteria.
When is Strong Customer Authentication required?
Strong Customer Authentication is required for new card purchases online. A Plan renewal doesn't require authentication.
