As a Network Host, you can remove or ban a member.
Remove vs. Ban
Remove a Member if you want to retain their contributions but need to revoke their membership.
Ban a Member only when absolutely necessary, understanding that all their content and activity will be deleted except Table of Contents items.
Removing or Banning a Member on the Web
From a member’s profile:
Go to the member's profile page
Click the three-dot menu in the lower right corner
Select "More"
Choose "Remove from Network"
You’ll see two options: "Remove This Member" or "Ban This Member"
From the Member List:
Click your profile picture in the top right corner
Click "Admin"
Scroll down to "Members" and click on "Member List"
Find the member you want to remove or ban, click the three-dot menu, and select your desired action
Remove a Member from Your Network
When you remove a member, their membership is revoked, but their contributions, such as posts and comments, remain intact.
The person who removed the member will appear as the author for all Table of Contents items created by the removed member. All other content will continue to appear as created by the removed member.
Removed members are allowed to re-join the Network.
When a removed member rejoins, their previous posts, saved drafts, followed members, chat messages, and the Introduction and About You sections on their profile are restored.
Their Member Category and any bookmarked posts will not be restored. They will not regain access to Spaces unless they rejoin under a plan that grants them access to the same Spaces they were previously a part of.
Ban a Member from Your Network
Banning a member is a permanent action and cannot be undone. When you ban a member:
Articles, events, comments, chats, event RSVPs, and other contributions are permanently deleted.
Table of Contents items are not deleted and the person who removed the member will appear as the author for all Table of Contents items created by the removed member.
Banned members cannot rejoin with the same email address.
Remove a Member from a Space
For public, private, or secret Spaces:
Navigate to the Member List for the Space
Find the member to remove, hover over their name, and click the three-dot menu
Select "More" and then choose "Remove from Space"
For plan access Spaces:
When you remove a member from a plan access Space using the steps above, you’ll see a message letting you know that the member has access to that Space through a Plan. If you remove them from this Space, they will also be removed from that Plan. If they have access to the Space through multiple Plans, they will be removed from all of those Plans and any Spaces within them.
To prevent this from happening, you can remove the member from just one Plan that includes that Space:
Go to Admin > Plan List
Go to the plan's "Members" tab.
Hover over the member’s name, click the three-dot menu, then select "More" and "Remove from Plan".
You can choose to remove them immediately or at the end of their current billing period.
What Happens After Removal or Ban
Members are not notified when they are removed or banned but will see they were removed if they try to log back in.
If a member is removed from a secret Network, they need an invitation from the Host to rejoin.
If a member is removed from a private Network, they must request to join again.
If a removed member rejoins a Space with the same email, their Table of Contents progress will be restored.
