You now have the option to turn on Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for your Mighty Network.
What is MFA?
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) adds a second step to the sign-in process, asking members to enter a code from an authenticator app after their password. It’s a powerful way to boost security—and it’s completely optional.
Where to Find MFA Settings
You can manage MFA by going to Admin > Members > Multi-Factor Authentication.
Here, you’ll choose who MFA is required for:
Not required for anyone (default)
Required for Hosts only
Required for Hosts and Moderators
Required for everyone
Once you save your selection, anyone included in the new setting will be immediately logged out and prompted to set up MFA the next time they sign in.
How It Works
MFA will apply to members based on your selected enforcement level—but only if they log in with an email and password.
A few key things to note:
Members using SSO (Single Sign-On) will not be prompted to set up MFA—and Networks using SSO will not see MFA settings at all.
MFA is compatible with social sign-on options like Google, Facebook, or LinkedIn.
Anyone using an outdated version of the mobile app will need to update before they can complete setup.
When MFA is turned on, affected members will be logged out, even in the middle of actions like creating a post or joining a livestream.
What Members Will See
When prompted to set up MFA, members will:
Open their authenticator app (we recommend 1Password, but Google Authenticator, Authy, and others work too).
Scan the QR code or copy and paste the key into the app.
Enter the 6-digit code from the app back into Mighty Networks.
That’s it—their MFA setup will be complete.
How to Turn Off MFA
To disable MFA for your Network:
Go to Admin > Members > Multi-Factor Authentication
Select Not required for anyone
Save your changes
Resetting MFA for Your Account
If someone needs to reset their MFA:
Go to Personal Settings > Account > Multi-Factor Authentication
Select Reset Authentication and Log Out
They’ll be guided through setup again during their next login
Troubleshooting Tips
The code isn’t working:
Double-check that the code matches what’s in the authenticator app
Remember, codes refresh every few seconds—enter a new one if needed
Make sure you're using the correct code for your Mighty Networks account
I got a new phone or device:
Reinstall your authenticator app on your new device
Log back into the app with your account credentials
If you’re unable to restore access, follow the app’s recovery instructions
