A Subscription Group links related subscription Plans together so that members can:
Move between Plans in the same group
See a carousel of available Plans in Personal Settings > Plans and Access
Choose a different billing interval (for example, monthly or quarterly) if multiple options are available
Each Subscription Group creates a single upgrade or downgrade path for your members.
This feature is ideal for tiered memberships—for example, Bronze, Silver, and Gold Plans—where you want members to easily move between levels without canceling their existing Plan.
Example:
A member on the Bronze Plan can upgrade to Silver instantly within their settings because both Plans belong to the same Subscription Group.
How to Set Up Subscription Groups
1. Create Your Plans
First, create the subscription Plans you want to include in your new Subscription Group.
Plans in a Subscription Group must:
Be subscription or free Plans (one-time Plans aren’t supported).
Be available for purchase on the web (not in-app).
You can learn more about creating Plans here.
2. Create the Subscription Group
Go to Admin > Marketing Tools > Subscription Groups.
Click the + icon in the upper-right corner.
Add a name and select the platform (web or iOS).
Choose the Plans you want to include in this group.
3. Add a New Plan to an Existing Group
When you create a new Plan, you’ll see an option to assign it to a Subscription Group.
Important notes:
On web, you can add or remove a Plan from a group at any time.
On iOS, you must assign the group during Plan creation.
Each Plan can only belong to one Subscription Group.
If you want a similar Plan in another group, duplicate the Plan first.
You can set the order of Plans within a group separately for web and iOS.
How Members Move Plans
Members can change Plans from Personal Settings > Plans and Access.
Select their current Plan.
Click Change Plan.
A carousel will appear showing the other Plans in the same Subscription Group.
When members select a new Plan, they’ll see:
The Plan’s benefits and description (as added by the Host)
Available billing intervals (for example, monthly or quarterly)
Pricing details
After confirming, their subscription updates immediately—no need to cancel or lose access first.
How Subscription Groups Affect Plan Movement
Subscription Groups determine how members can move between Plans. The experience varies slightly by platform.
Members on Plans Inside a Subscription Group
Web: Members can only move between Plans in the same group. Hidden Plans within the group will not appear in the upgrade carousel.
iOS: Members can only move between Plans in the same group. Hidden Plans will still appear and can be selected.
Members on Plans Outside of a Subscription Group
Web: Members can move to any visible Plan that’s also outside a group.
iOS: Members cannot move between Plans unless those Plans are in a Subscription Group..
How to Test the Member Experience
To see how Subscription Groups work in action:
Create a test member account and join your Mighty Network.
Go to Personal Settings > Plans and Access.
Try upgrading or downgrading between Plans in the same group to confirm the experience.
Best Practices
Use Subscription Groups for tiered offerings (for example, Bronze → Silver → Gold).
Keep group names clear and descriptive so it’s easy to manage multiple sets.
Test both web and iOS experiences if your Network supports in-app purchases.
