Once you've upgraded your Mighty Network to The Community Plan or above, you have the opportunity to create Events that can bring your members together in real-time. There are several options for hosting virtual Events for your members, including going live in your Mighty Network and scheduling Zoom meetings or webinars within your Mighty Network.
This article breaks down the additional options you have for hosting virtual Events on platforms outside of Zoom that are Live Video Events, Online Meetings, or Webinars.
Creating a Live Video, Webinar, or Online Meeting Event Type
First, ensure that Events have been enabled following the instructions here.
Then, use the + button to create an Event and set up the specific details you want to customize for this Event (title, date and time, if you want it to be a Repeating Event, etc.).
Under Event Type, make sure "Online" is selected and you'll see options in the dropdown menu for selecting the type of virtual Event you want to host.
The Event Type you select will help signal to members what to expect from the Event and how they will be able to participate. The Event Type appears as a tag on the Event itself when it appears on the Events list and when someone views the full details of the Event. The Event Type will also be visible in the feed if you choose to have your Event also appear in the Activity Feed when it's posted.
If you select Meeting, Webinar, or Live Video, all three of these options will prompt you to add a link to an external service of your choice that you want to use for your Event. If you instead prefer to use our Zoom integration and host a live Zoom meeting or webinar directly in your Mighty Network, go here to see the full details of how to create a Zoom Event.
As soon as you select the Event Type, you'll see a required field pop up that prompts you to add a link to your Event. This is where you'll paste in the link for the Event on the external service you're planning to use.
If you want to schedule a Livestream in your Mighty Network, using the Live Video link is the best option. You can paste the URL for your Activity Feed (or the feed for your Group or Course) as the link. Below is an example from a livestream in Mighty Community. We will be adding the option to livestream from an Event in the future.
For more details on how to go live, check out this article How to Go Live.
If you're using Crowdcast to host your Live Video Event, for example, you'll want to add the link to your Crowdcast Event here.
Some of our favorite services for hosting Online Meetings, Live Video, or Webinars are:
As soon you as you add a link, our system will recognize the external service you are using and add a logo indicating where the Event will be hosted.
How Members Join Your Live Video, Webinar, or Online Meeting
After you've finished adding all the details for your new Event and it's published in your Mighty Network, members can start RSVP'ing. When it's time for the Event to start, they just need to click on the saved link on the Event to join, and they will be automatically popped into the Event that you created on an external service.
Here's what that will look like on the web:
Posting a Recap of Your Live Video Event or Online Meeting
If not everyone in your Mighty Network is able to attend your Event live, there are a few ways that you can share a full recap with everyone after your Event is over.
Some services (like Crowdcast and YouTube Live) allow members to revisit the same link at a later time to watch a replay of the live Event. If the service that you're using also allows you to download the full video stream that was shared as an .mp4 or similar video file, you can then re-upload the video to the service of your choice (we personally use YouTube and Vimeo most often) and embed the saved video into any Article or Event in your Mighty Network. Here's the full list of video embeds we support today and how to add them.
If you're on our Mighty Pro or Business Plan, you also have the ability to upload video directly to your Courses. So you can choose to embed the video or directly upload the replay to your Course Overview, Lesson, or Section.
Adding a new Article after your Event is over with a summary of what happened and an embedded video is a great way to give members a way to watch the recap later.
Special Instructions for Hosting Facebook Live, YouTube Live, or Vimeo Livestreaming Events
You can also use Vimeo Livestreaming, YouTube Live, or Facebook Live to host your Event.
Since we currently support directly embedding Vimeo, YouTube, and Facebook video links directly into Articles, Events, and Course materials in your Mighty Network, this means that you can embed your *live* broadcast video happening on one of those platforms into the Event you created or any other Article in your network. (Right now we only support directly embedding Facebook Live videos that are happening from a public Facebook page.)
When you embed a live video that's streaming on one of those platforms into an Article or Event in your Mighty Network, members can watch the video right within that post in your community without having to go anywhere else.

Event Ticketing
Currently, we don't have the option to sell event tickets directly within your Mighty Network. The way you can do this today is by putting your Events inside a Paid Group or Course using our payments features, so that you can then charge for access to that Group or Course.
