Live chat events offer you the opportunity to host a scheduled, real-time event with your members right in your Mighty Network.
While there isn't video or audio, folks can chat back and forth and share text, images, rich links, videos, and emojis in an All Member Chat area that opens up on the web or in the mobile app when you create a Live Chat Event. You can turn on or off the All Member Chat area in Network Settings > Premium Features.
Create a Live Chat Event
To organize a live chat event in your Mighty Network, first you need to create a new event. Make sure you've indicated in the event type area that you want this to be a live chat event. When this is selected, your members will be able to click on a link directly within the event post on the web or in the mobile app that pops open the All Member Chat area (provided you've switched that feature "on" in your Mighty Network).
How to Turn on All Member Chat
When it's time for your live chat event to start, you'll want to first make sure that All Member Chat is enabled from Network Settings > Premium Features before the event starts. The All Member Chat area is turned on by default, but we have many Hosts who prefer to keep it off and only make it available during scheduled live chat events in their Mighty Network.
When it's time for a live chat event, members who have RSVP'd "yes" or "maybe" will receive an event reminder 30 minutes before it starts.
Save a Transcript After a Live Chat Event
When the live chat event is over, Hosts have the option of saving a full transcript of the live chat as an article that members can reference later.
To save a transcript of the chat as an article, open up the three dot menu from the upper right corner of your All Member Chat area and select "Save Chat as Post."
From there, you will be able to select the time range for the chats you want to save as your transcript of the event. Hitting "Post" will create a new draft of an article with the entire live chat transcript available in the body of the post. You can add your own title, images, and formatting to the text that appears above the live chat transcript.
When you're ready to publish the draft of your live chat event transcript, just hit the Post button in the upper right corner of your article!
