How Do Members Block or Report Others?

Learn how members report and block each other

Updated yesterday

We want your members to feel safe and supported in your community. To help them manage their experience, members can block other members, report a member, or report a post they believe is inappropriate.

Here’s how each option works.

Blocking or Reporting a Member

Members can block or report someone from their profile:

  1. Go to the member’s profile.

  2. Click the three-dot menu.

  3. Select More.

  4. Choose Block or Report.

They can also block or report from a chat message:

  1. Open the chat with the member.

  2. Click the three-dot menu.

  3. Select More.

  4. Choose Block or Report.

Blocking a Member

  • The blocker will no longer receive notifications or 1:1 messages from that member.

  • Their existing 1:1 chat will clear from notifications after the next login.

  • Posts from the blocked member will no longer appear in the blocker’s Feeds.

  • The blocked member is not notified.

  • The blocked member can still see posts and comments created by the person who blocked them.

  • If you have been blocked, your chat view will appear normal, but your messages will no longer be delivered.

Unblocking a member

To unblock someone:

  1. Go to the member’s profile.

  2. Open the three-dot menu.

  3. Select More.

  4. Choose Unblock.

Reporting a Member

Members can report someone on both web and mobile:

  1. Go to the member’s profile.

  2. Click the three-dot menu.

  3. Select Report [Member Name].

  4. Choose a reason and click Report Member.

After reporting, members will see a confirmation message and an option to block the member they reported.

When a member is reported, all Network Hosts receive a notification with the details and reason. Hosts can take action, including removing or banning the member.

Reporting a Post

To report a post:

  1. Click the three-dot menu on the post.

  2. Select More.

  3. Choose Report Article.

If more than two members report the same post, it will automatically be hidden from the Activity Feed.

Blocking and Muting Chats

Members can block another member directly from a chat:

  1. Open the chat.

  2. Click the three-dot menu.

  3. Select Block.

They will no longer receive notifications or 1:1 messages from that member, and they won’t see their posts in Feeds.

Members can also mute notifications for a specific chat in their personal notification settings.
